We’ve got a some great news to share as we close out 2025. Binary Sky Publishing is now accepting composer submissions through the website.
If you’re a composer with a portfolio of work you’re proud of, we’d genuinely love to hear it.
And just so it’s crystal clear from the start, this is not limited to any one “type” of composer. If your music lives inside a DAW, that’s absolutely fine. If you work with notation. If you’re hybrid. If you write to picture. If you make loops. If you write long-form cues. If you do a bit of everything. You’re welcome here.
What’s changing in 2026
Going forward into 2026, Binary Sky Publishing is opening up two connected areas of work:
A sync licensing department
A commission pipeline, where we actively take on briefs and match projects to our composer roster
That second part matters, because it’s the practical reason we’re building a roster in the first place.
We’re not just collecting names for the sake of it. We’re building a system where real briefs can come in, the right composer can be paired with the right project, and work can be delivered professionally.
The kind of briefs we’ll be looking for
Our licensing and commissions work will be targeting bespoke music for things like:
Podcasts
Video
Film music
Weddings
and other similar projects where a client needs something specific, not generic
If you’re reading this and thinking, “That’s exactly the world I want to write for”, then please do apply.
It’s not about how long you’ve been composing
One of the things we want to be really clear about is this:
We don’t really mind how long you’ve been composing for.
You might have been doing it for years and years. You might have only just started properly. Either way, the thing that matters most is the quality of your music and the potential you’ve got.
If your writing has taste, clarity, and personality, that’s what we’re listening for.
If you’re unsure, submit anyway
This bit is important, because I know how people think.
If you’re reading this thinking:
“I love the sound of this… but I’m not sure I’m good enough.”
Please send your music anyway.
Genuinely.
I’d much rather listen to something brilliant than never hear from you at all. Sometimes people are far better than they think they are, and they just need someone to actually hear the work.
So if you’ve got something strong, or something that shows real promise, don’t overthink it. Send it.
How to apply
All submissions are handled through the Binary Sky website.
When you apply, the simplest helpful things to include are:
A short intro about you and what you write
Links to your portfolio (a showreel, playlist, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, YouTube, whatever makes sense)
Anything you feel describes your strengths (genres, moods, formats, specialisms)
That’s it. No hoops. No weird rituals. No “submit 400 files and a blood sample”. Links are great.
Let’s have a conversation
We’re genuinely pleased to be opening this up. Building a composer roster is something we’re taking seriously, and 2026 is shaping up to be a really exciting year for Binary Sky Publishing.
So, have a look at the submissions page, and if it feels like a fit, send your work in.
And if you’re thinking there are compelling reasons to join Binary Sky, you’re absolutley right. Have a read, and let’s talk.
Thank you, and happy Christmas
Finally, thank you so much for the support in 2025. It’s meant a lot, and it’s helped us get to this point where we can start building properly for what’s coming next.
We are really looking forward to 2026.
Have a very happy Christmas, and a very, very happy New Year.
