Some moments in life feel too important for an off the shelf playlist.
Your wedding day is one of them. Every couple has their own story, their own in jokes, their own way of moving through the world together. At Binary Sky Publishing we believe the music that carries you through that day should reflect that, which is why we create bespoke wedding music built around you, not around a template.
In our latest piece, Till Death Do Us Part, we wanted to show what that can look and sound like in practice. The whole piece is built from a single melody that travels through the day in different forms. It begins life as a song, then reappears as solo guitar, as a string quartet and finally as a solo piano piece.
Same tune. Same story. Different perspectives.
Starting with a song
For many couples the emotional centre of the day is the first dance or the music that runs under their wedding film. That is often where we begin.
Till Death Do Us Part started as a song. You can imagine it as that first moment on the dance floor when everything else blurs out for a few minutes, or as the track that quietly plays behind your wedding highlights video years later. The lyric, the harmony and the structure are shaped around you, so it feels like something that belongs to your relationship rather than a song that could be anyone’s.
Once that core song is in place, we can start to think about where else it might appear.
The same tune, closer and more intimate
There are parts of the day where a full band or vocal track would be too much. Guests are arriving, people are catching up, you are signing the register or taking a quiet moment together.
That is where a solo classical guitar or solo piano version of the same melody can work beautifully.
The harmony and flow stay the same, but the delivery becomes much more intimate. A guitar arrangement can sit perfectly in a small chapel, on a terrace during drinks, or in the background as people find their seats. A piano version can hold a room during a moment of reflection, or set the tone as guests first walk into the ceremony space.
There is no need to change musical language every time the room changes. Instead, your theme moves with you.
A timeless walk down the aisle
For the ceremony itself many couples still love the feeling of live strings. A string quartet has that timeless quality that instantly makes a space feel special, whether you are in a church, a registry office or a hotel.
Because we start with a song that already fits you, arranging it for string quartet becomes a way of dressing it for the aisle. We work with the pacing of your entrance, any readings or moments that need support, and any points where the music should naturally resolve.
Again, the same piece of music is doing the work, just speaking through a different ensemble.
Looking at the shape of the whole day
When you commission wedding music from Binary Sky Publishing, we do not think in terms of one track and a quick MP3. We look at the entire day and ask some simple questions.
- What are the key moments you want music to support
- Where do you want something bold and memorable
- Where do you want something gentle and unobtrusive
- Which instruments do you love, and which do not feel like you
From there we can design a musical plan that makes sense for your venues, your budget and your guest list. That might involve:
- A custom song for your first dance
- A string quartet version for the walk down the aisle and the signing of the register
- Solo guitar or piano arrangements for drinks, reception and quieter spaces
- Small ensemble or band arrangements for the evening
All tied together by one or two core themes that belong to you.
Scores, parts and keepsakes
Because Binary Sky Publishing is first and foremost a notation and engraving house, we don't have to stop at audio files. We can also produce properly prepared scores and parts, so if you are hiring any musicians and you choose to opt for this service too, we could include full scores and parts so your musicians have clear, readable music in front of them, when they perform it live on your big day.
Some couples like to keep the printed score as a memento or frame a page from the piece. Others choose to give copies to family members, or to the players who performed on the day. However you approach it, you know the music exists in a form that can be performed again and again.
How the process works
The process is straightforward and designed to be relaxed, even if the rest of wedding planning is not.

Turning your story into music
There are plenty of brilliant existing songs that work well at weddings and there is nothing wrong with choosing one of those. But if you feel that your day would benefit from something written around your story, in your key, at your tempo, there is another option.
Till Death Do Us Part is just one example of how a single piece of music can live comfortably as a song, a string quartet, a guitar arrangement and a piano piece, all under the same roof.
If that idea appeals, we would love to talk. You can find full details on the links above, and when you are ready, send us a brief for your big day. We will help you shape the soundtrack.
